An activity organized by Unesco's world decade for cultural development
PREMA (Preventive conservation in museums of Africa) is a programme
developed by ICCROM (International centre for the study of the preservation
and restoration of cultural property) for African museums south of
the Sahara.
Its aim is to establish before the year 2000 a network of African
professionals capable of taking charge of the conservation
of collections and the training of colleagues,
thereby giving Sub-Saharan African museums tools for a long-lasting
